According to the ” Latest Action on Pre-Travel Inspection and Health Code Application for China” issued by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Japan on Thursday, May 19, 2022, all travelers entering China are required to take the PCR test twice and the rapid antigen test once.
◆First PCR test
PCR test to be performed 2 days prior to the scheduled boarding date
◆Second PCR test
PCR test to be performed within 24 hours departure time
◆Pre-boarding rapid antigen test
Rapid antigen test within 12 hours of departure time
Please refer to the following for the different responses to the above.
[First PCR test (2 days prior to boarding date)]
The required PCR test for travel to China applicable from Monday, May 30 is different from the rapid test performed at our PCR center and requires time to examine genes in three locations.
The time for issuing a certificate will be after 12:00 on the day following the collection.
However, please take the test with the full understanding that approximately 2% of those who have taken the test may need to be retested for accuracy control purposes, and that because the test is performed again, there is a high possibility that the results will not be available in time for the ” Health Code Application ” application deadline.
In addition, depending on the results of the re-test, it may extend to a second inspection. In this case, please understand in advance that the results will not be available in time.
The issuance of certificates for the samples collected between 17:00 and 0:00 will be handled on the following day, so they will be issued after 12:00 on the following day.
[Second PCR test (within 24 hours of departure time]
Our PCR testing center is not accredited as a “Specially Designated Testing Institution” by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Japan, and therefore cannot perform the test.
[Rapid antigen test (within 12 hours of departure time)]
Our PCR testing center is also able to perform this test. After the test, we will prepare a test report using the prescribed format.
(Note) Please contact the embassy or consulate-general for travel procedures.
